FAQ

Common Questions

I understand that leaving your pet in someone else's care can be a daunting experience. To help ease your mind, I have compiled a list of commonly asked questions and their answers. If you have any additional queries, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Liability when accidents occur, what do you (as the groomer) do to provide me with the best care if it were to occur.)

In the event an accident may occur you will be notified immediately to discuss options. Depending on the situation if it is an emergency I will try my best to call off my remaining appointments to help get your pup to an emergency vet. I do my best not to allow accidents to occur, however, your pup is a living organism and does not sit still as you do in a hair salon.

Examples:

Nicked skin- I will prevent blood by clotting it with medicated powder. vets typically will do the same thing also depending on severity.

Pawpad cut- depends on severity. goal is to clot the wound with medicated powder and leave it alone so it will heal.

Cut of the tongue or accidental licking of scissors- anything in the mouth usually needs to heal on its own, unless deep and uncontrollable bleeding it is recommended to let it heal.

Over the age of 10 yrs- pups that are over this age, tend to be at a high risk for any kind of medical issue.  Any pup with a known history of medical issues including, but not limited to cancer, epilepsy, or seizures will be provided with the best of care. These pups will be required to sign a release of liability agreement due to age and existing medical issues.

Can I walk in or show up to get services provided?

No, I am an appointment based service provider only. I am the only person running my business, which means I am receptionist, bather, groomer, and cashier. If you are in urgent need of services, please contact me to discuss.

How long does it take to complete my pup from start to finish?

Please contact me to discuss your pet's specific grooming needs. I offer a range of grooming services. Based on your service needs, it can take me 1 to 3 hours to complete your pup. This time frame is also dependent on your pups: size, condition of coat, length of coat you are requesting, and behavior. Typically, small pups take an hour, medium pups take an hour to an hour and a half, and large- extra large pups can take up to 3 hours (usually no more than four depending on services.

What is the appropriate amount of tip that I should give to my groomer?

At The Sculpted Pup, we believe that taking care of your furry friend is a labor of love. That's why we don't expect tips from our clients. Our priority is to provide excellent service and show compassion towards your pup. However, if you feel like leaving a tip, you're more than welcome to do so. Thank you for trusting us with your pet's grooming needs."
